Regular payments, such as those from an employer or payments from a government department, can be directly deposited into a bank account electronically and instantly. The recipient of the payment needs to make an arrangement with the payer by providing a void cheque or a form obtained from the bank. Direct deposit is also a reliable method to use when paying regular bills, such as rent or utilities.

Cash withdrawals can be made in several different ways:

  • Directly at the bank counter, with a bank card or by cashing a cheque
  • At an ATM, although some banks put a daily limit on cash withdrawals
  • By asking for “cash back” when paying for goods at certain retail stores with a bank card, usually for smaller amounts
  • By using a credit card

For larger amount withdrawals, a client needs to inform the bank in advance, indicating the amount and currency needed.
