Those who arrive in Canada with $10,000 in cash or more in their possession must report the sum of money they are bringing into the country on the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) Declaration Card or in the verbal declaration made to a border services officer.

Those who leave Canada by air with $10,000 or more in their possession must report the sum to the CBSA office within the airport, prior to clearing security, or, if departing by land or boat, to one of the CBSA offices.
