ontréal has four distinct seasons with humid summers that range from warm to hot and cold winters with frequent snow storms. In the summer, temperatures can reach into the high 30s oC, which can fell even warmer because of the humidity. In winter, while -10 oC may be normal, temperatures dipping well into the -30s are not uncommon. Spring and fall are mild, but prone to drastic temperature changes. Cycling is a very popular activity with many designated paths in the downtown area. North of the city, there are many small lakes and ski resorts, among which Mont Tremblant, Mont-St. Sauveur and Mont-St. Anne are popular.
